Shipping rates may be rising, but they are “not super yet,”
Dry bulk shipping rates surged this year as the global economy bounced back and commodity demand recovered.
“Is it a supercycle? Well, I would say not yet, but it has the potential to become one,” said Mark Williams, managing director of Shipping Strategy, a maritime consultancy.
A so-called supercycle refers to a sustained period of high and increasing prices, typically driven by strong demand and low supply.

prvom tjednu prosinca, njegova vrijednost smanjena je za oko 94 posto ( 663) boda.
Zastrašujuće zvuči podatak da je tada dnevni najam
capesize brodova pao s 234.000 USD na samo 7.340 USD.

Raste cijena kako novogradnji tako i polovnim brodovima, polovnima zapravo cak i vise. Zato ti to nije argument.
Druga stvar, da firma sada kupi nekakav polovni panamax star 10 g, koji trenutno kosta oko 19M usd, te ako pretpostavimo da ce ovakve trzisne okolnosti se zadrzati jos najmanje sljedece dvije godine (a u to koliko vidim svi ovdje vjeruju i zato opravdavaju nabavku novogradnje), firma bi u te dvije godine zaradila neto toliko koliko bi danas platila taj brod, i to samo od vozarina, uopce ne racunajuci vjerojatan porast vrijednosti tog istog broda u tom periodu. Samo ove godine se vrijednost tih brodova udvostrucila, a kroz dvije godine ce se, uz ove pretpostavke, vjerojatno jos jednom udvostruciti.
